dogs roam
among dead dogs

a boy wheels the halo
of the holy mother

a crucified
hen

from the pipe of a customer
in a whorehouse
a woman's black stocking
rises like smoke

many shoes overcoats hats gloves
but the house empty
not one human face
     to be seen

cats slink
among shrub shadows

a man tosses the bag
of the flies' Santa

evaporated chemicals
rise like clouds

of bodies only voices
