Junkyard Quote 3, Post 3, Week 5

"We'll play third grade politics."

One of my writing group members was talking about interacting with people in the library and exchanging evil looks with a girl he went to elementary school with.

Junkyard Quote 2, Post 2, Week 5

"You can't be there if there's no there to be."

Yet another gem from my CNF teacher. We were talking about setting the scene for a piece, and she came up with this to inspire us to give more details.

Junkyard Quote 1, Post 1, Week 5

"It's like trans fats. The only people who have them are the people who don't say they don't."

I don't remember where I heard this, but I do remember thinking it was funny. I think it was a standup comedian. Anyway, I liked it so here it is.

Junkyard Quote 4, Post 4, Week 4

"The dad who wants to be a rapper"

This was a piece of a confessional clip on a show called "Inked." "Inked" is about a tattoo shop in Vegas located in a casino. It's a really interesting show. The owner takes his business extremely seriously which shatters some stereotypes of the tattoo culture. One of the guys who helps out with the shop was talking about how he hoped his concert would go well that night because nothing is worse than being "the dad who wants to be a rapper."

Junkyard Quote 3, Post 3, Week 4

"Here's to more days like today."

This was on a commercial on Hulu. I don't remember what the commercial was for (probably a bad sign for their advertising board), but I do remember that line. It's so optimistic and appreciative.

Junkyard Quote 2, Post 2, Week 4

"The people out west, they all have perfect mouths."

My boyfriend and I were watching a surf documentary, and we commented on how white and straight their teeth were. He came up with this, and I love it.

Junkyard Quote 1, Post 1, Week 4

"Your images have never looked so good."

I just found this one on the blogger homepage. It was the title of one of the featured blogs. The post was about some digital imaging software I think.
